Integrating DEIB into Every Coaching Conversation

Coaches are increasingly working with clients from diverse identities, cultures, and lived experiences, yet many struggle to meaningfully integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) into their sessions. This interactive 120-minute workshop equips coaches with practical tools to incorporate DEIB in ways that deepen trust, expand awareness, and enhance client outcomes. Participants will explore how identity, power, culture, and systemic dynamics shape coaching conversations, and learn how to recognize and respond to these factors in real time.

Through guided reflection, real-world scenarios, and hands-on practice, coaches will build the skills needed to ask more inclusive questions, navigate discomfort, and create coaching environments where all clients feel seen, heard, and valued. Aligned with International Coaching Federation Core Competencies, this session supports coaches in cultivating trust and safety, listening across differences, and evoking deeper client awareness through an inclusive lens.

Learning Objectives: 
o    By the end of session, participants will be able to:
o    Identify where DEIB shows up (and is often missed) in coaching sessions
o    Apply inclusive coaching strategies that respect identity and lived experience
o    Respond effectively to bias, power dynamics, and cultural differences in real time….

About Dr. Aikyna Finch, PCC: 

Dr. Aikyna Finch, PCC is a passionate DEIB leader, educator, and strategist committed to creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. As the Vice President of DEIB for the International Coaching Federation (ICF), she leads global initiatives that champion equity and belonging. With a Doctorate of Management and advanced degrees in technology and marketing, Dr. Finch merges data-driven strategy with human-centered leadership. She is also a TEDx speaker, author, and certified coach. Through her voice, vision, and advocacy, Dr. Finch empowers individuals and organizations to transform DEIB from intention into impactful, lasting action.
